Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join the Security Operations team. You will design, implement, and enhance security controls across endpoint, network, cloud, and OT/ICS environments globally.

The role involves developing threat detection use cases, automating operational processes, and mentoring team members while coordinating with manufacturing and cloud teams. Remote work with 10–15% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR, SIEM, IAM, email security, and cloud/identity security.
• Proficient in Python or PowerShell with REST API integrations.
• Strong knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and its use in threat detection.
• Experience with networking, OS, and cloud security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support security technologies across endpoints, network, cloud, identity, email, and data protection environments.
• Develop threat detection use cases, correlation rules, and alerting in SIEM/MDR platforms.
• Build security automation to improve operational efficiency and incident response.
• Act as senior technical resource during cybersecurity incidents, including investigation and containment.
• Conduct security architecture reviews for applications, cloud environments, integrations, and acquisitions.
