Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join its Security Operations team. You will design, implement, and optimize security controls across enterprise IT and OT/ICS environments, working with infrastructure, application, cloud, and manufacturing teams to strengthen security postures.

The role emphasizes hands-on security engineering, incident response support, vulnerability management, and security automation, with opportunities to lead projects and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or infrastructure security in a complex enterprise.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies such as EDR/XDR, SIEM, IAM, email security, secure web gateways, or SASE solutions.
• Experience developing automation using Python and/or PowerShell, including REST API integrations.
• Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and its application to threat detection, hunting, and security validation.
• Knowledge of networking, operating systems, cloud security (Azure and/or AWS), and identity security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support security technologies across endpoint, network, cloud, identity, email, and data protection environments.
• Develop and optimize threat detection use cases, correlation rules, and alerting capabilities within SIEM and MDR platforms.
• Build and maintain security automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and incident response.
• Act as a senior technical resource during cybersecurity incidents, assisting with investigation and containment.
• Conduct security architecture reviews for applications, cloud environments, integrations, and new acquisitions.
• Lead vulnerability management and security hardening initiatives, including baselines and remediation planning.
• Develop scripts, API integrations, dashboards, and reporting solutions for visibility and monitoring.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and security runbooks; mentor team members.
