Job summary

RainFocus, a leading software company, seeks a mid-level Security Engineer to safeguard its assets, architecture, and cloud deployments. You will own vulnerability management, collaborate with developers on secure design, and manage both internal and outsourced security programs.

You will also help run the bug bounty program, monitor security posture, and contribute to incident response while guiding security best practices across teams.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• 3–5 years of dedicated cybersecurity experience in a technical role.
• Strong familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and web app security testing.
• Experience running enterprise vulnerability scanners and driving remediation across teams.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS and securing cloud-native apps.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work with developers to fix security bugs without blocking work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vulnerability management end-to-end: scanning and remediation across teams, validate findings with tools like Burp Suite and Kali Linux.
• Manage crowdsourced security with BugCrowd and monitor external security posture (Bitsight).
• Act as security voice in developer meetings; review code dependencies and threat-model new features.
• Conduct system impact analyses for changes and lead threat modeling sessions.
• Triage and document security incidents in OneTrust and Jira; coordinate with DevOps for secure AWS deployments.
• Maintain read-only/audit oversight of endpoint tools like Sophos, JAMF, and BetterCloud.
• Lead security awareness training and RF Academy programs to keep security top-of-mind.
