Job summary

CAI is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst Intern for a remote, part-time internship. The role focuses on security operations, vulnerability management, threat analysis, and governance, risk, and compliance within a simulated client environment. The internship offers hands-on experience and daily standups with weekly deliverables.

Candidates should have cybersecurity fundamentals, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Work authorization without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree, certificate, or training program in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, OS, and security best practices
• Strong written communication for professional reports and documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Reliable computer and internet connection
• Ability to complete weekly assignments on time

Responsibilities

• Perform asset inventory and establish a security baseline for a simulated client network
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and document findings, risks, and remediation recommendations
• Analyze attack vectors and cybersecurity threats in the simulated client environment
• Implement and document approved system hardening activities in a controlled environment
• Participate in incident response exercises and create detailed incident reports
• Perform security operations tasks, including alert triage and monitoring
• Assist with governance, risk, and compliance initiatives and draft security policies
• Develop and present a capstone security program summary for client leadership
• Attend daily standups and complete weekly written deliverables
• Collaborate with mentors to achieve weekly learning objectives
• Work within an isolated AWS-based training environment accessed through a browser
