Job summary

CAI is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern for a structured internship program focused on security operations, vulnerability management, threat analysis, incident response, system hardening, and governance, risk, and compliance. The role is remote and part-time, designed for students or recent graduates pursuing cybersecurity or IT studies.

You will work with mentors in a simulated client environment, perform risk assessments, and develop a capstone security program summary for leadership.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree, certificate, or training program related to cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, operating systems, and security best practices
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to create professional reports and documentation
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage tasks independently in a remote environment
• Reliable computer and internet connection
• Ability to complete weekly assignments and written deliverables on schedule

Responsibilities

• Perform asset inventory activities and establish a security baseline for a simulated client network
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and document findings, risks, and remediation recommendations
• Analyze attack vectors and relevant cyber threats impacting the simulated client environment
• Implement and document approved system-hardening activities within a controlled environment
• Participate in incident response exercises and create detailed incident reports
• Perform security operations activities including alert triage and monitoring-system tuning
• Assist with governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, including drafting security policies and risk documentation
• Develop and present a capstone security program summary for client leadership
• Attend daily standups and complete weekly written deliverables
• Incorporate feedback received from staff into ongoing assignments
• Work within an isolated AWS-based training environment accessed through a web browser
• Collaborate with assigned mentors and technical staff to achieve weekly learning objectives
