Job summary

World Business Lenders (WBL) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to help protect systems, devices, and information in a fully remote environment. This entry-level role monitors security activity, investigates alerts, and supports improvements under the direction of the Cybersecurity Team Lead.

Work hours typically 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET, Monday to Friday, with potential extra hours. You will collaborate with cloud, development, and Help Desk teams to implement approved security changes and

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of networking, Windows or Linux, authentication, and security controls.
• Practical exposure to security tools via coursework, labs, personal projects, internships, or employment; prior professional experience is not required.
• Ability to review logs, follow investigation procedures, prioritize tasks, and elevate when needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs; investigate suspicious activity, document findings, and promptly escalate potential incidents.
• Support incident response using established procedures, including evidence collection and approved containment actions.
• Run vulnerability scans, track remediation with system owners, and verify that assigned findings are resolved.
• Assist with endpoint protection, email security, identity and access controls, and secure system configuration.
• Support access reviews, multifactor authentication, and least-privilege controls; identify and report exceptions.
• Maintain security procedures, incident records, and audit evidence; help deliver employee security awareness activities.
• Work with cloud, development, and Help Desk teams to implement approved security changes and resolve issues.
