Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks a Claims Representative for the Eastern/Southeastern Kansas territory. This role is fully remote within the territory and requires travel up to 40% to support crop insurance claims.

The ideal candidate has crop insurance claims experience and knowledge of agriculture, with at least 6 months in related fields. You will manage claims, investigate coverage, and negotiate settlements while maintaining detailed files.

Qualifications

• 6 months minimum experience in general agriculture, ag business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.
• Crop insurance experience is highly favorable.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the territory.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of crop related claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conduct claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Determine and negotiate settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Convey routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorize payments within assigned authority and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
