Job summary

Zurich North America, via RCIS, is seeking a Crop Claims Field Adjuster II to join our Rural Community Insurance Services team. This home-based role covers South Dakota with about 50% travel, performing field inspections, reading maps, and discussing crop loss findings with farmers on complex claims.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2+ years crop insurance/claims experience.
• CAPP certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, completes field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex claims.
• Ability to convey complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people on claim situations.
• Performs fact finding regarding crop damage, records information and transmits loss information to determine potential indemnities.
• Gather relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and establishing basic negligence principles.
• Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain regulatory and company policy knowledge to ensure legal compliance.
• Contribute to the team by achieving related results and participating on projects as needed.
