Job summary

Yale Cancer Center is seeking a Manager of YM Coding and Billing services to oversee charge capture, coding accuracy, and timely processing of billable services. You will develop policies, monitor compliance, and collaborate with clinical departments, revenue cycle, and compliance teams.

The role requires CPC certification, extensive coding knowledge, and experience with EHR systems; leadership and training capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Current CPC certification required.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations.
• Proven experience with an electronic health record and practice application systems, electronic data entry, and web-based applications and websites.
• Expert proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (emails and calendars).
• Knowledge of medical insurance billing procedures, third-party reimbursement methodologies and documentation/compliance requirements.
• Government and commercial insurance rules and regulations pertaining to correct coding initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Regularly reviews billing activity for specific clinical departments; provides detailed summaries and updates to administration, physicians and coders.
• Provides advice on operational improvements to enhance efficiency of payment and reimbursement of clinical services.
• Develops, implements, and monitors policies to optimize provider reimbursement; educates staff on billing and coding issues by department.
