Job summary

Casa Lending is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. This role focuses on ensuring proper perfection of originated loans across the United States, coordinating with the Loan Production Team, outside counsel, and title companies through closings and title policy reviews.

You will draft, review, and negotiate loan documents, ensure compliance with multi-jurisdictional requirements, and manage high-volume closings with precision and urgency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed attorney in good standing with active bar admission; California license preferred.
• Experience closing complex real estate transactions in multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Loan Production Team to perfect loans across jurisdictions.
• Review and prepare loan documents including Loan Agreements, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust.
• Negotiate and finalize loan terms; draft ancillary documents.
• Prepare and distribute other loan-related documents (UCC filings, discharges, extensions).
• Conduct title reviews to confirm first lien positions.
• Coordinate with Title Companies for recording and finalization of title policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet deadlines and close loans.
• Complete final review of closing document packages.
• Draft and review updates to loan documentation; escalate issues.
• Review borrowing entity documents and confirm execution authority.
• Manage high-volume workload with accuracy.
• Support cross-departmental legal needs.
