Job summary

National Capitol Contracting, LLC is seeking a Copy Editor for transcription, post-production captioning, and live event AV support, including webcasts. The role supports federal and private sector clients and may require local travel to customer sites.

The position is remote, but candidates must reside in the D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area. Base schedule is 9am-5pm ET with possible early mornings, evenings, or weekends; compensation ranges from $40,000 to $50,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, multimedia editing, video, audio, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 1+ years of professional editing and/or transcription experience.
• Experience editing transcripts and using industry-related software (Microsoft Office and Adobe apps).
• Ability to manage competing deadlines with strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread transcripts for accuracy, formatting, and customer requirements.
• Timecode and sync transcripts to video projects.
• Record high-quality audio and/or video of meetings, hearings, and conferences.
• Interface with customers, colleagues, and leadership reflecting NCC's core values.
