Job summary

Ammega is seeking a Conveyor Belting Application Engineer to serve as a technical resource across the Americas, collaborating with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering. You will provide application support, product recommendations, troubleshooting, and field training for a wide range of conveyor systems.

This customer-facing role requires travel up to 40%, is remote within the United States, and involves onboarding customers, conducting conveyor surveys, and supporting retrofits and trials

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related technical field required.
• 1–3+ years in application engineering, technical sales, product support, conveyor systems, or industrial manufacturing.
• SolidWorks or CAD software proficiency.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce (SFDC) or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support across the Conveyor Belting portfolio for Sales, Customer Service, distributors, OEMs, and end users.
• Partner with customers, Sales, and Engineering to assess equipment needs, including new conveyor layouts and retrofits of existing systems.
• Recommend conveyor belting solutions based on application requirements, operating conditions, customer needs, and opportunities to improve performance or reduce operating costs.
• Demonstrate how recommended solutions meet customer requirements and differentiate from competing products.
• Support strategic projects and competitive conversions through technical review, product recommendations, and field support.
• Participate in customer site visits, conveyor surveys, product trials, installations, and on-site troubleshooting.
• Serve as a technical resource for customer inquiries and application requests, providing timely follow-up and clear recommendations.
• Troubleshoot conveyor and belt performance issues, considering product selection, conveyor design, installation, operating conditions, and maintenance.
• Develop or modify product specifications, drawings, and technical recommendations as needed.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product/application training for Sales, Customer Service, distributors, customers, and prospects.
• Identify opportunities to recommend improved materials, products, or conveyor solutions to increase performance or reduce cost.
• Partner with Engineering Manager on complex applications and high-priority customer issues.
• Support quality investigations with field observations and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Design Engineering, Operations on customer requirements.
• Support R&D and new product development through field knowledge and testing.
• Work with regional specialists to support market initiatives.
• Share knowledge regionally and bring best practices back to Americas organization.
• Provide field feedback on recurring challenges and product performance.
• Support new product introductions through validation, trials, documentation, and training.
• Document technical requests and project activity using established systems.
