Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Commissioning Engineer specializing in the GE Mark VIe Plant Controls System to lead the commissioning of complex Combined Cycle Power Plant projects. You will drive planning, execution, and customer handover with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Travel up to 100% across the United States and internationally is required, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure field readiness, validation, and seamless integration of control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness and ability to travel for long-term field assignments (up to 100%) across the United States and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, trial runs, and acceptance testing of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Perform pre-checks, system energization, and network verification to ensure seamless communication and full functionality across all devices and subsystems.
• Supervise and execute loop checks, functional tests, and protection testing with rigorous documentation and operational log standards.
• Manage system turnovers across all phases - from installation through commissioning to final customer handover - ensuring full compliance with procedures and documentation requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, review control logic against engineering design documents, and implement HMI screen modifications and alarm configurations.
• Champion a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety walks, and subcontractor compliance monitoring.
