Mercor in the United States seeks a Corporate / Controllership Accountant for a remote, contract engagement. You will manage the general ledger, period-end close, and GAAP compliance to support AI research initiatives.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations; reviewing AI-generated outputs for accuracy; and translating close activities into clear training data. Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

• CPA, or 3–5+ years of corporate/in-house or firm accounting experience.
• Hands-on ownership of the general ledger and the period-end close.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Comfortable with common accounting tools ( QuickBooks , NetSuite , SAP , Oracle , Excel ).
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Design realistic scenarios from controllership work, including financial statement preparation, journal entries, and account & bank reconciliations.
• Review and compare AI-generated accounting outputs for accuracy and GAAP compliance .
• Provide clear written feedback to improve AI performance in close and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research team to enhance AI model training .
• Translate day-to-day accounting operations into structured, high-quality training data.
