Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced corporate accountants to translate day-to-day books into structured training data for AI. You will handle financial reporting, month-end close, and core accounting operations while ensuring GAAP compliance.

Ideal candidates have CPA or 3–5+ years of corporate/in-house or firm accounting experience, ownership of the general ledger, and familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and Excel.

Qualifications

• CPA, or 3–5+ years of corporate/in-house or firm accounting experience.
• Hands-on ownership of the general ledger and the period-end close.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Comfortable with common accounting tools (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Excel).
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic controllership scenarios including journal entries and month-end closes.
• Review AI-generated outputs for GAAP compliance and accuracy.
• Provide clear written feedback to improve AI performance on close and reporting.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research team.
