Job summary

Gammon Theological Seminary is seeking a Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain the general ledger, and ensure GAAP compliance. This individual-contributor role reports to the President/CEO and CFO, with collaboration across auditors and department leaders.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or MBA, nonprofit/higher-education accounting experience, and at least five years of progressive accounting responsibilities including monthly closes and grant accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Master's degree (MBA) or CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of the general ledger and perform month-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and cash flow projections.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and fixed asset activity.
• Assist with annual financial statements and audits.
• Track grants and restricted funds; ensure GAAP compliance.
