Advice Personnel is seeking a Controller for a fast‑growing CPG advisory firm serving high-growth e-commerce brands in a remote capacity. The role will oversee day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of clients, manage month‑end close, and deliver client‑ready financial reporting with insights into performance and trends.

The ideal candidate will have deep GAAP knowledge, experience with QuickBooks Online and multiple ERP systems, and will partner with founders and executive leadership to scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 4–10 years in accounting or finance operations.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and core accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process for a portfolio of clients, reviewing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and present timely, client-ready monthly financial reporting packages, providing insights into financial performance and key business trends.
• Review e-commerce accounting activity, including marketplace settlements, inventory transactions, cost of goods sold, and revenue recognition across multiple sales channels.
• Partner directly with founders and leadership teams as the primary accounting contact, providing guidance on day-to-day accounting matters and financial operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and month-end close procedures to support growing businesses and increase operational efficiency.
• Review and mentor the work of junior accounting staff, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to accounting best practices.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic finance initiatives in collaboration with the firm's fractional CFO team.
