Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Consultative Pharmacy Technician 3 to act as intake for calls from patients, providers, and pharmacies. You will perform advanced administrative, operational, and customer-support duties with independence and judgment.

The role supports the interdisciplinary CIT team by resolving medication access barriers for primary care meds. Responsibilities include managing referrals, prior authorizations, and patient outreach while adhering to program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program.
• Active unrestricted State Pharmacy Technician License in your state of residence.
• PTCB Certified with Medication Therapy Management Certification.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Knowledge of the top 200 drugs.
• Experience with electronic health records.
• Prior Authorization experience.
• Pharmacy Benefit Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Review medication lists and assist with formulary and cost-management needs.
• Help patients with applications for assistance programs and subsidies.
• Screen for Low Income Subsidy and enroll eligible patients.
• Provide Medicare Prescription Payment Plan education.
• Address pharmacy-related access issues and facilitate prior authorizations.
• Coordinate with clinics and providers and document case activity.
• Conduct patient outreach and ensure timely medication access.
