Job summary

EquipmentShare is seeking a Construction Foreman to supervise carpenters and laborers on active jobs. You will interpret blueprints, plan daily tasks, oversee framing, drywall, and fixture installations, and enforce safety and quality standards.

As a foreman you will mentor crew members, coordinate with project managers and other trades, manage materials and labor needs, and maintain an organized, efficient site. A high school diploma and at least 5 years in construction preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a carpenter with leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and construction methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crews, delegate tasks, and manage job site workflow.
  • Working knowledge of drywall installation and finishing.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Experience with concrete work (forming, pouring, finishing) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with carpentry tools, equipment, and construction machinery.
  • Solid math and measurement skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks when needed.
  • Trained and experienced in safely operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, and skid steers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate a crew of carpenters and laborers on active job sites.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications; communicate scope clearly to crew members.
  • Plan daily tasks, assign work, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
  • Construct and oversee the building of frameworks such as walls, floors, and door/window frames.
  • Oversee installation of structures and fixtures (doors, cabinets, drywall, trim, etc.).
  • Direct and assist with drywall installation, finishing, and repairs.
  • Coordinate and perform basic electrical, plumbing, and concrete work as needed.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting work for accuracy, safety, and craftsmanship standards.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve skill levels and productivity.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure proper use of equipment, including lifts and machinery.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure alignment.
  • Track progress, materials, and labor needs; report updates to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient job site.
