Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Construction Estimator to join our client, a dynamic construction consultancy, in a fully remote capacity. You will review plans, quantify materials, and prepare detailed cost estimates for diverse projects, collaborating across time zones to ensure accurate pricing and timely bid submissions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of estimating experience, with strong proficiency in BuildSoft, Sage Estimating,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating across diverse project types.
• Proficiency in estimating software (BuildSoft, Sage Estimating, Accubid) and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Independent work and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost estimations and provide mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to gather information and clarify project scope.
• Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for projects.
• Research and analyze market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals, tender documents, and cost breakdowns.
• Utilize specialized estimating software to streamline the estimating process.
• Maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference.
• Participate in bid review meetings and present estimation findings.
• Ensure all estimates are submitted accurately and on time.
• Continuously improve estimating techniques and tools.
