AmTrust Financial Services seeks a Complex Claim Specialist to handle complex professional liability claims with emphasis on legal malpractice. This role can be based in one of our claims offices with remote work options, and requires evaluating coverage, managing litigation, and ensuring proper reserves.

You will negotiate, review liabilities, and travel for mediations or trials as needed. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in professional liability, strong analytical and communication skills, and

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience handling professional liability claims.
• Proficient computer skills to navigate paperless claim file system.
• High level of technical claim skills and legal knowledge.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Able to adapt to changing situations, requirements and priorities.
• Ability to influence others without damaging relationships.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Recognize exposures and ensure reserving is appropriate and timely.
• Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities.
• Conduct thorough independent investigations using available resources (e.g., internet, PACER, experts).
• Manage litigation with proper selection, planning, budgeting and partnership with counsel.
• Exhibit strong negotiation skills.
• Effectively communicate exposures internally and externally.
• Formulate proper resolution strategy to ensure best claim outcome.
• Occasional travel for mediations, trials and related meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
