Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Territory Manager to cover the South Central New York region, including Albany, Poughkeepsie, Middletown and Oneonta.

You will work in field sales, meeting veterinary clinics, shelters, and corporate accounts to understand needs and sell the Animal Health portfolio within the Companion Animal line. In this role you’ll develop account plans, partner with field teams and distributors, and advocate for innovative health solutions that drive sales while aligning with Merck's

Qualifications

• Strong consultative sales skills and ability to identify opportunities.
• Ability to travel overnight and on weekends.
• Experience in veterinary/healthcare/pharma fields preferred.
• Build territory business plans and customer strategy.
• Knowledge of Animal Health product portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Communicates portfolio meaningfully to customers and tailors discussions.
• Primary contact for assigned customers and builds relationships.
• Develops territory and account plans with cross-functional partners.
• Collaborates with species teams to enhance portfolio knowledge.
• Analyzes monthly sales results and manages expenses.
• Identifies programs and education opportunities for accounts.
• Delivers offerings addressing customer needs.
• Stays current on animal health products and industry trends.
• Maintains learning and development objectives.
