Job summary

FHLBank Chicago is seeking a Community Investment Operations Specialist to support federal grant programs and AHP operations. You will optimize processes, develop tooling, and produce reports to improve efficiency and compliance across housing initiatives.

The role emphasizes technical assistance, project lifecycle reviews, and cross-team collaboration to strengthen community investment outcomes in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; postgraduate study can substitute for work experience.
• 2-4 years of affordable housing finance or community development experience.
• 2-4 years of direct customer success or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with local, state, federal, and community development programs.
• Proficiency in Excel and Access; working knowledge of Tableau and SQL.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to tailor messaging.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and program policies for AHP.
• Support operational processes for AHP General Fund program.
• Develop tools to streamline processes and build reports.
• Provide technical assistance to Members and Sponsors for AHP online app.
• Review projects and lifecycle support for AHP housing units.
• Analyze grant performance and disbursements; maintain efficiency tools.
• Assist with system support through data analysis and testing.
• Support other Community Investment programs during high-volume periods.
