Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is seeking an Operations Specialist to ensure compliance with federal regulations and support AHP program operations. You will optimize processes, build tools, and generate reports to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

You will engage with members, review projects, and provide customer service across the AHP lifecycle, including reporting and stakeholder communications. Strong Excel/Tableau/SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Urban Studies, Public Administration or Policy; postgraduate may substitute.
• 2-4 years’ experience in affordable housing finance or community development.
• 2-4 years’ experience with direct customer success or customer service engagements.
• Familiarity with local, state, federal grant programs and financing structures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access.
• Working knowledge of Tableau and SQL.
• Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to tailor messaging.
• Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment; work under pressure.
• Cultivates strong relationships; cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and program policies; support AHP operations.
• Assist in optimizing processes, develop tools, and build reports.
• Increase member engagement with AHP through online application support.
• Review and lifecycle support for AHP projects; support housing unit development.
• Provide ongoing customer service and technical assistance to program users.
• Analyze grant performance and disbursements; ensure SARs filed as needed.
• Develop tools to improve efficiency and update program policies and guides.
