Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBank Chicago) is hiring an Operations Specialist to ensure compliance and optimize processes for the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) General Fund Community Investment. You will enhance operations, develop tools, and build reports to support grant lifecycle and eligibility assessments.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years in affordable housing finance or community development, strong Excel/Access skills, and familiarity with grant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 2–4 years' experience in affordable housing finance or community development.
• 2–4 years' experience with customer success or customer service engagements.
• Familiarity with local, state, federal, and/or community development programs and grant processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access; working knowledge of Tableau and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service and technical assistance to program users regarding AHP eligibility and project feasibility.
• Analyze and track grant performance and disbursements of awarded funds; build tools to improve processes.
• Support reporting of operational events related to AHP activities and file SARs as needed.
• Assist with updating AHP program policies, procedures, and user guides.
• Support system data analysis, reporting, and user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency during high-volume periods.
