Job summary

Chestnut Health Systems invites applicants for a full-time Community Health Specialist to coordinate ROSC initiatives in Bond County. This role blends remote work with oversight from Granite City or Belleville offices and requires collaboration with local councils and partners to grow recovery supports.

The role demands strong grant writing, budgeting, program development, and leadership skills, supported by relevant education or credentialing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a master's with two years; or CPS/CRSS/CPRS/CADC in good standing with 10 years lived experience.
Knowledge of recovery, program development, needs assessment/evaluation and community capacity building is required.
Experience in grant writing and budgeting is preferred.
Must provide leadership, handle large projects, and collaborate within the agency and community.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom and online reporting systems are required.
Must have a valid driver’s license, private auto insurance, be insurable, and have home internet connection.
Position requires travel to locations within the site plan area.
Must be able to obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate programs, including recovery events and trainings.
Lead community groups in development of evidence-based programs and practices.
Assist in grant budget development and provide regular budget updates to supervisor.
Conduct outreach with community stakeholders and provide supporting data.
Develop and analyze needs assessments and program evaluations.
Create and evaluate media campaigns and educational materials per grant requirements.
Identify funding opportunities and write grant and contract applications.
Provide timely program/ grant reports and mentor staff and interns.
Participate in local, state, and national advocacy collaborations.
Fulfill agency and funder responsibilities, including staff development and meetings.
Promote recovery model principles in all interactions and protect confidentiality.
