Job summary

Aspire Living and Learning is seeking a Communications Manager (Remote) to craft human‑centered narratives and manage media relations across a multi‑state footprint. The role partners with leadership to align external messaging and executive communications, supporting thought leadership and strategic outreach.

The position reports to the Director of Marketing and requires strong writing, independent work, and ability to work across teams. Remote work available within designated service areas.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related field.
• Strong writing across formats: press releases, talking points, leadership comms.
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear, accessible narratives.
• Experience or familiarity with nonprofit/healthcare/human services comms preferred.
• Familiarity with multi‑state media markets and regional press relationships a plus.
• Capable of working independently, juggling priorities, meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex operational and clinical work into human‑centered narratives for external audiences.
• Develop messaging frameworks, talking points, and narrative guides for consistency.
• Identify positioning gaps and shape external narratives.
• Manage media relations: drafting press releases, pitching stories, responding to inquiries.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists across Aspire’s footprint (CT, MA, NH, VT, MD).
• Support thought leadership and preparing spokespeople for interviews, panels and engagements.
• Draft op-eds, bylines, and award submissions to elevate Aspire’s reputation.
• Monitor industry conversations and insert Aspire’s perspective clearly.
