Job summary

Washington State Department of Commerce is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the Housing Division’s Multifamily Housing Unit. You will manage communications, develop newsletters, briefing materials, and program reports, and coordinate with internal teams, partners, and public funders.

The role emphasizes data governance, CMS/HCMS reporting, and ensuring clear, accessible information for applicants and stakeholders across Washington State.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of combined professional experience, lived experience and/or education as described.
• Experience in affordable housing, housing finance, real estate/lending, or related fields.
• Education in housing finance, business or public administration or related field.
• Lived experience with housing instability may substitute for education or experience.
• Examples show multiple pathways to qualify (years of experience plus education).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Multifamily Housing Unit communications with internal and external customers.
• Develop quarterly newsletter, briefing materials, and program reports.
• Prepare data analyses and maintain CMS/HCMS data queries and reports.
• Ensure current, accessible information for applicants and partners.
