Job summary

Qualifications

• BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 5+ years of post-bachelor experience
• Or Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 3 years experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills in a client-facing role
• Solid understanding of the market landscape
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and programming languages: SQL, R, Python, Radar, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial auto pricing, including individual account pricing and portfolio-level analyses
• Conduct actuarially sound statistical analyses by selecting data sources and making assumptions to develop pricing recommendations
• Evaluate analytical work and provide decisions considering internal and external factors
• Document assumptions, methods, sources and considerations clearly
• Prepare actuarial findings suitable for technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in peer reviews to improve quality and drive innovation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actuarial support
• Follow industry developments and emerging methods and tools
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide ad hoc analytical support
• Develop and analyze new methodologies for insurance rating and loss reserving
