Job summary

Canto is hiring its first in-house legal leader to build and scale a modern legal function from the ground up. This role focuses on commercial contracting as a growth driver, reporting to the CFO, and will design AI-enabled contracting operations to accelerate deal velocity.

Within six months, you will own end-to-end contracting, implement systems and playbooks, and partner across Sales, Finance, and the executive team to scale efficiently.

Qualifications

• JD and bar membership in good standing.
• 5–8 years legal experience in SaaS/tech, in-house or mix.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, NDAs).
• Knowledge of GDPR/CCPA frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and execute commercial SaaS agreements with guardrails.
• Scale contracting operations and implement CLM system.
• Lead data privacy regulatory alignment with GDPR/CCPA across geographies.
• Partner with Sales, Finance and executives on AI-driven workflows and contracting priorities.
