Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Collections Analyst in Chicago to own a portfolio of US merchants in arrears across Adyen’s financial products. You will manage cases end-to-end, from outreach to repayment plans or escalation, while scaling the operation with automation and compliant processes.

You will work independently within approved playbooks, escalating complex cases to senior colleagues, and collaborating with Risk, Finance, Legal, and Product to maintain consistency and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in collections, account recovery, or credit operations at a lender, bank, fintech, or payments company.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to explain terms in plain language.
• Comfort with collections platforms or CRM tools and with basic reporting in Excel/Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of merchant accounts in arrears and drive each case to resolution by email.
• Explain contractual obligations clearly and negotiate realistic repayment plans.
• Escalate and coordinate recoveries with Risk, Finance, Legal, and Product to ensure a consistent answer.
• Keep audit-ready records of interactions and decisions; comply with US collections and lending rules.
