Job summary

Optum is seeking a coding team supervisor to manage a remote group of edit coders supporting multiple clients. You will monitor performance, assist with onboarding, and ensure accurate coding across complex cases.

Responsibilities include auditing processes, coordinating queues, and collaborating with hospital partners to maintain access and coverage. Minimal travel and a strong emphasis on team guidance and data-driven quality will be expected.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• 5+ years experience with ICD-10.
• 5+ years experience CPT.
• 3+ years of Acute coding experience.
• 3+ years of remote employee management.
• 3+ years experience with OCE, MUE, NCD, LCD, CCI and NCCI structures.
• 3+ years in level I trauma center/teaching hospital coding.

Responsibilities

• Assist manager/Director in supervising remote team of edit coders.
• Monitor performance and activities of up to 25 remote employees.
• Onboard new employees with HR and IT Provisioning teams.
• Audit coding processes and improve quality.
• Coordinate coverage of edit and denial work queues.
• Troubleshoot billing processes with Billing Managers.
• Act as primary contact to hospitals for access and coverage.
