Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a Billing/Coding Specialist to perform coding and related duties in accordance with established billing office policies.

You will be the primary contact with physicians, department administrators, hospital and billing staff, coordinating professional service billings for selected clinical departments and helping develop new lines related to coding, billing and charge capture.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 CM coding, payer, and governmental policies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assign or verify CPT, ICD-10 CM coding and modifiers based on documentation.
• Resolve charge entry edits following policies.
• Know EMR systems and electronic charge workflows.
