VIVA is seeking a remote Medical Coder to accurately code provider claims under CMS and ICD-10 guidelines. The role analyzes itemized bills and medical records for facility and inpatient claims, and recommends coding corrections.

Requirements include an associate degree or 2 years in health insurance, national coding certification (CPC/CCSP/RHIA/RHIT), and proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook. Remote work available in all states except NY, CA, HI, AK.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 2 years of experience in health insurance industry.
• 2 years medical coding through medical record abstraction.
• National coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCSP, RHIA, RHIT).
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook; strong verbal and written communication; analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• This position is responsible for the accurate coding of claims by providers.
• Under supervision, research and analyze itemized bills and/or medical records for facility and inpatient claims validating the coding.
• Audits itemized bills and/or medical records to ensure CMS and ICD-10 coding guideline compliance and recommends corrections.
