Job summary

This is a full-time position with Monday to Friday hours, offering a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of acute hospital coding experience or 3-5 years with CCS certification.
  • Expertise in coding and abstracting inpatient and outpatient records.

Responsibilities

  • Code and abstract inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes.
  • Ensure timely processing of records to support hospital accounts receivable goals.
  • Contribute to the delivery of quality patient care and improve clinical decision-making.

Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coding and abstracting all inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding rules, federal guidelines, and KHN guidelines.
  • Support hospital accounts receivable goals by ensuring timely processing of records and physician record completion.
  • Contribute to the delivery of quality patient care and improve clinical decision-making processes.
  • Assist in clinical outcomes measurement and assessment for various service lines.
  • Complete assigned duties and other related tasks as needed.
  • Note: Duties may be modified to meet departmental needs or goals.
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management with RHIT or RHIA certification, and 1-2 years of acute hospital coding experience, OR
  • CCS certification with 3-5 years of acute hospital coding experience.

  • Full Time: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with weekend rotation option if interested.
