Select Minds LLC is hiring an experienced COBOL AS/400 Programmer to support mission-critical applications on the IBM AS/400 platform. This remote role follows PST work hours and involves occasional monthly travel for onsite collaboration with travel expenses covered.

The candidate will design, modify, and maintain COBOL programs, analyze business requirements, perform testing, and provide production support. Strong legacy system skills and independent work ability are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on COBOL programming on IBM AS/400 (iSeries).
• Proficiency in DB2 for i, embedded SQL, and CLP.
• Solid understanding of AS/400 architecture, subsystems, job scheduling, and library management.
• Debugging, performance tuning, and modernization of legacy COBOL applications.
• Familiarity with 5250 terminals or green-screen interfaces.
• Strong communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Legacy Application Development & Maintenance: design, enhance, and support COBOL programs on AS/400.
• Business Requirement Analysis: translate needs into specs and code.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: unit testing and debugging COBOL applications.
• Production Support: diagnose and resolve real-time issues to minimize downtime.
• System Integration: collaborate with analysts and cross-functional teams for integration.
• Documentation: maintain technical docs and knowledge base updates.
