Job summary

VOLTO Consulting is seeking an experienced AS/400 COBOL Developer for a 6-month onsite assignment in San Antonio, TX. You will develop, maintain, and support business-critical AS/400 COBOL and RPG-based applications.

You will work with DB2 data models, optimize SQL on the iSeries, and resolve complex batch and interactive issues. Collaboration with modernization teams and CI/CD practices in the IBM i environment are required.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience required.
• Deep DB2 expertise with data modeling and SQL tuning on IBM iSeries.
• Experience debugging and resolving complex batch and interactive issues.
• Collaborate with modernization teams to integrate AS/400 apps with modern systems.
• Experience with CI/CD in IBM i environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support AS/400 COBOL and RPG-based applications.
• Troubleshoot and optimize DB2 SQL performance on iSeries.

Role: AS/400 COBOL Developer

Location: ONSITE- San Antonio, TX

Duration: 6 months

• " Develop, maintain, and support business-critical AS/400 COBOL and RPG-based applications, adding strong legacy support to the team's TECHNICAL ARSENAL.


• Deep understanding of DB2 databases; creating and maintaining data models, and troubleshooting/tuning advanced SQL performance issues on the iSeries platform.


• Extensive experience in analyzing, debugging, and resolving complex batch processing and interactive application issues.


• Collaborate with cross-functional and modernization teams to integrate AS/400 applications with modern distributed systems.


• Experience in continuous integration/deployment processes specific to the IBM i environment.


• Knowledge of Agile principles with experience in Scrum or Kanban.


• Familiar with general office machines and proficient in standard MS Office tools
