Job summary

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a remote Cloud Platform Engineer to lead design and development for migrating on-prem Java applications to a cloud platform on AWS. You will guide architecture decisions, implement Java Spring APIs, and drive cloud-native patterns across a modernization program.

You will mentor junior developers, review CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and apply IaC with Terraform to manage cloud resources while strengthening security through DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Experience as a lead developer supporting cloud migration projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Java applications hosted on AWS.
• Experience with AWS serverless functions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery and stakeholder meetings to understand requirements.
• Assist architects in design and technical decisions, aligning with client needs.
• Lead planning activities and support stakeholder communications.
• Design and develop Java Spring APIs and review architecture.
• Integrate cloud services and write IaC using Terraform for cloud infra.
• Review CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub for deployments.
• Support DevSecOps initiatives and security posture of the platform.
• Oversee code reviews and mentor junior developers on cloud-native best practices.
• Research new technologies to support continuous improvement.
