Job summary

Hansen Talent Group seeks a strong remote software engineer to lead the design, development, and migration of Java cloud platforms as part of a large-scale modernization effort.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable cloud-native solutions using AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience as a lead developer supporting cloud migration projects.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in design and development of Java applications hosted on AWS.
• AWS serverless functions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery and stakeholder meetings to understand requirements.
• Assist architects in design and technical decision making, addressing roadblocks while aligning with client requirements.
• Lead planning activities and support stakeholder communications.
• Design and develop Java Spring APIs and review existing architecture, proposing changes as needed.
• Integrate cloud services to support computing, storage, and serverless functions; implement IaC with Terraform.
• Review CI/CD pipelines; collaborate with Jenkins and GitHub for deployments.
• Support integration of security tools and reporting dashboards for DevSecOps posture.
• Oversee code reviews and mentor junior developers on cloud-native best practices.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to enable continuous improvement.

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a strong, remote software engineer with in-depth experience developing and supporting Java Cloud platforms as part of a large-scale modernization and migration effort. The Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for leading design and development efforts to support a Java migration, moving on‑prem legacy applications to a new, cloud platform. Duties:

• Participate in discovery and stakeholder meetings to understand business and functional requirements needed in order to design best fit solutions.
• Assist architects in design and technical decision making, addressing potential concerns and roadblocks while also ensuring client requirements align with the technology in use.
• Lead planning activities and support stakeholder communications.
• Design and develop Java Spring APIs and review existing architecture, making changes and recommendations as needed.
• Integrate cloud services to support computing, storage, and serverless functions. Additionally, write and implement IaC using Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure.
• Review CI/CD pipelines, working with Jenkins and Github to ensure smooth deployments.
• Support the integration of security tools and reporting dashboards to support DevSecOps initiatives and overall security posture for the client platform.
• Oversee code reviews and mentor junior developers on cloud-native best practices.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to support continuous improvement
