Job summary

Mutual Of Omaha is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design and automate infrastructure using AWS CDK, TypeScript and Python. This remote role involves collaborating with teams to improve developer experience and build scalable, self-healing cloud platforms.

The position requires 8+ years in development, 2+ years AWS/CDK, and strong IaC capabilities. Occasional in-person planning meetings are expected; remote work is allowed from the United States or Puerto Rico.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in development, including TypeScript and/or Python.
• 2+ years of experience in AWS, building/managing services via CDK.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience within a single cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative cloud solutions by designing and automating infrastructure using AWS CDK, scripting languages, and APIs.
• Partner with teams to uncover challenges and accelerate delivery with self-service tools.
• Apply engineering excellence to automate, self-heal, and build reusable components at scale.
• Lead lifecycle automation for distributed cloud platforms to ensure secure, stable deployments.
• Build and optimize secure cloud networks including load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs.
