Upstart is seeking a DevOps Engineer (L4) to evolve the Cloud Platform tooling behind our AI-powered lending marketplace. You will partner with SRE, Delivery, InfoSec, and Product/ML teams to improve reliability, developer experience, and cost efficiency across a platform used by nearly every engineering team.

Qualifications

3+ years operating Kubernetes in production environments.
Proficiency with AWS infrastructure (VPC, networking, IAM).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
GitOps workflows with ArgoCD or similar.

Responsibilities

Design and operate Kubernetes clusters across production, staging, and epoxy environments.
Evolve AWS infrastructure and network architecture to support multi-team workloads.
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and GitOps workflows (Terraform, CDK, ArgoCD).
Define and drive SLOs, analyze incidents, implement systemic fixes.
Lead incident response and post-incident reviews to improve platform reliability.
