Upstart, a leading AI lending marketplace, is seeking a Software Engineer II, Developer Platform, to build and operate systems used by engineers to develop, test, and prepare software for production. You’ll work across CI infrastructure, Kubernetes-based environments, test infrastructure, and developer tooling while delivering well-scoped projects.

This is a remote-friendly role with teams across the US, Canada, and onsite opportunities in major hubs; you’ll collaborate with Delivery, Cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent) plus 3 years software engineering experience
• Experience developing production software using one or more general-purpose programming languages
• Experience designing, building, testing, and operating production software or infrastructure
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, CI systems, developer tooling, or backend services
• Experience independently delivering well-scoped software engineering projects from design through production operation
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools across the lifecycle with interest in evolving how you use these tools as capabilities advance

Responsabilités

• Build and improve services, infrastructure, and developer tooling powering CI and testing
• Develop Kubernetes- and AWS-based capabilities for production-like environments
• Create shared infrastructure for test execution, orchestration, environment setup, and results to provide fast, trustworthy feedback
• Improve platform reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency by diagnosing recurring issues and implementing durable software and infrastructure improvements
• Replace manual or fragmented developer workflows with reusable APIs, automation, and platform capabilities
• Use AI throughout software development and problem solving, and identify opportunities for AI-enabled workflows that improve developer productivity across Upstart
