Job summary

Mercor in the United States is seeking a Cloud / DevOps Engineer (Infra & IaC) for remote contract work. You will support AI research teams by maintaining cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes operations, and IaC pipelines to ensure scalable, reliable deployments.

Qualifications

4+ years of professional cloud infrastructure/DevOps experience.
Hands-on production Kubernetes experience, diagnosing cluster failures.
IaC production experience with Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
Experience integrating AWS services in production (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
Experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines.
Strong written communication to explain technical decisions.

Responsibilities

Guide research and engineering teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes operations, and IaC topics.
Design tasks and write accurate solutions for cluster diagnosis, AWS service integration, and infrastructure automation problems.
Evaluate infrastructure tasks and provide clear, written feedback.
Develop guidelines and rubrics to assess cluster failure diagnosis, IaC design quality, and CI/CD reasoning.
Collaborate with SMEs to ensure training data accuracy.
