Job summary

Redan LLC is seeking an experienced Data Operations Specialist (DBA) to operate and sustain the cloud data environment across AWS pipelines, databases, and an open-data portal.

You will manage production data operations, publish datasets, monitor health, respond to incidents, and maintain SOPs and runbooks to keep the environment auditable and compliant in a regulated federal setting; remote work within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of database administration and data-operations experience, including production support.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain AWS-based data workflows (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Redshift, RDS PostgreSQL, S3).
• Conduct ongoing database administration - tuning, patching, backup/restore, indexing, and maintenance across relational/warehouse stores.
• Manage the Huwise open-data portal and CKAN data catalog; ensure timely dataset publication and support new data visualizations.
• Monitor platform health, logging, and alerts; perform initial incident triage by severity.
• Monitor data quality and observability - pipeline execution, data freshness, completeness, and volume anomalies.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational docs quarterly or with new releases.
• Deliver monthly SLA performance reporting and data availability metrics.
• Provide end-user training on database access and data-usage tools.
• Ensure backups meet RTO/RPO objectives and support ATO/FISMA/compliance.
