Job summary

Buildertrend Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer, AI Platform to shape the cloud foundation for AI agents that support real customer workflows, while ensuring data protection, cost control and performance.

You will own platform architecture, set standards for independent engineering teams and drive scalable AI across products. You will design and maintain production AI agent infrastructure, lead GCP networking decisions, and develop reusable Terraform modules and CI/CD

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience architecting enterprise-grade GCP environments.
• Experience at a B2B SaaS company.
• Strong infrastructure as code practice.
• Hands-on AI/ML workloads in production.
• Experience with workload identity and m-to-m authorization.
• Incident ownership and executive communications.
• Automation of secrets rotation and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain production AI agent infrastructure.
• Lead decisions on GCP networking and zero-trust boundaries.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish centralized LLM access with cost attribution.
• Document platform decisions with TL;DR risk and trade-offs.
• Serve as a technical counterpart to cloud/AI providers.
• Take incident command during critical production issues.
• Implement secrets rotation and policy-as-code controls.
• Lead blameless postmortems and improve security and resilience.
• Leverage AI to enhance work while ensuring quality.
