Job description

At Steadfast Health we're a on a mission to deliver hope, healing, and long-term health to those experiencing substance use disorder, through best-in-class addiction treatment and an unwavering belief that lasting recovery comes from partnering with our patients as respected equals in their care journey. We're a passionate team striving to raise the standard of compassionate care for our patients, and we know that to do that, we must care for our people first. We'd love to meet you and tell you about what we're building!

This Role

We are seeking a mission-driven Behavioral Health Supervisor to provide remote, board-approved clinical supervision to our associate-level clinicians in North Carolina. This is a part-time, fully remote role, where we are seeking someone who is comfortable with a caseload of their own patients and supervising associates. We are building a team of associates, so supervision will likely encompass a small portion of the role as we grow.As a supervisor here, you will have real influence over how our supervision practices and clinical culture take shape in North Carolina.

Required Licensure & Supervisory Credential

Because this role provides board-approved clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians, candidates must hold both an active, independent North Carolina clinical license and the supervisory credential recognized by that license's board. You must hold at least one of the following:

  • LCSW (NC) with a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical practice and an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, in good standing with the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Eligible to supervise LCSWA.
  • LCMHCS (NC), the NC Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors' supervisor credential, required to supervise LCMHC Associates (LCMHCA). An LCMHC license alone, without the LCMHCS credential, does not qualify.
  • LMFT (NC) who is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, required to supervise LMFT Associates (LMFTA).
Your Responsibilities

Clinical Supervision & Leadership

  • Provide board-approved clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians through weekly individual and group supervision, in compliance with all applicable NC board requirements.
  • Manage clinician caseloads and ensure behavioral health staff adherence to treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Peer Supervisor, and Facility Administrator or Operations Director to align clinical care and operational goals.
  • Maintain all required supervision documentation, contracts, and reporting per NC board standards.

Therapy & Patient Care

  • Provide individual and group therapy for patients with substance use disorders, in-person and via telehealth, embodying the Steadfast patient-first ethos.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, modeling a non-paternalistic, destigmatizing approach to care.
  • Utilize evidence-based modalities — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — to support recovery.
  • Collaborate with clinic-level team members, including Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, and Peer Recovery Specialists, to ensure integrated treatment.
  • Support patients in crisis intervention and coordinate higher levels of care when needed.
  • Maintain thorough, timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Pioneer innovative approaches to improving access and care for disadvantaged, marginalized populations.
  • Educate patients and families on SUD, co-occurring disorders, and resources supporting sustained recovery.
Qualifications
  • Active, independent North Carolina clinical licensure with a board-recognized supervisory credential, as detailed above
  • Must reside in one of the following states; FL, GA, OH, NY, NC, TN, TX, or PA
  • Prior experience providing clinical supervision remotely is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse staff.
  • Passion for Steadfast Health's mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reduction-oriented SUD care.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while participating in video sessions, meetings, and documentation work.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing and handling documentation.
  • Sufficient visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively by video and review documentation.
  • Work may involve discussing high-stress clinical situations and requires emotional resilience and sound judgment.
  • Schedules reflect current anticipated needs and may evolve as the organization grows.
