Job summary

Guardant Health, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform high complexity testing and ensure quality across the lab.

The role requires strict adherence to SOPs, QC, and regulatory standards, with independent work in a team environment and strong communication skills. The candidate will operate and troubleshoot equipment, review results in LIMS, prep reagents, and participate in assay improvements and validation.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active CLS or CGMBS license per California requirements.
• Compliance with 42 CFR 493.1489/1491 and NYS Part 58-1.5 when applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science or related field preferred.
• Guardant Health CLS experience or equivalent high complexity lab experience preferred.
• Recent laboratory experience preferred; molecular biology experience advantageous.
• Working knowledge of local, state, and federal lab regulations preferred.
• Able to apply feedback professionally and manage daily test processing with quality focus.
• Strong problem solving and teamwork abilities; clear communication of issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens per SOPs.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment per SOPs.
• Review, interpret and report patient results in LIMS as assigned.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues that affect test performance.
• Perform and document quality control procedures and corrective actions.
• Document reagent qualification and routine preventive maintenance.
• Prepare reagents and contribute to assay configuration and validation.
• Supervise unlicensed personnel during analytical testing; ensure safety compliance.
