Job summary

OpenLoop Health is seeking a Remote Clinical Informaticist to lead clinical data architecture and governance, ensuring reliable decision support across our platform. The role reports to the Senior Medical Director of Clinical & Informatics and acts as the SME for clinical data design and workflows.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted clinical license (MD/DO/NP/PA) and board certification in relevant clinical discipline.
• Formal training in clinical informatics (graduate coursework, certificate, or board certification) preferred.
• 5+ years of clinical practice experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on clinical informatics work including data development, analysis, and maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of clinical workflows and multiple EHR systems.
• Demonstrated clinical informatics experience blending clinical knowledge with data-driven decision making.
• High proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of FHIR, FHIR resource model, and FHIRpath syntax.
• Experience with clinical data vocabularies and interoperability.
• Excellent communication skills to translate clinical and technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the clinical SME for product and project teams, guiding clinical workflows and data best practices.
• Design, build, test, and update clinical data assets powering decision support and workflows.
• Translate clinical requirements into workflow and informatics specifications and validate features.
• Analyze clinical data to identify gaps and opportunities, improving decision logic and automation.
• Provide clinical informatics input on technical specs and support product managers as SME for clinical apps.
• Maintain mappings to standardized vocabularies for interoperability across systems.
• Collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering teams to ensure data-driven features are safe and meaningful.
• Support guideline development, governance, and quality/product enhancements with clinical leadership.
• Assist Quality and Training teams to identify workflow improvement areas and design solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.
