Job summary

Ovation Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Documentation Educator (CDE) to audit, create, implement and maintain education for physicians, clinicians and other care providers at client sites. This role will track metrics, support quality initiatives and drive improvements in documentation practices.

Remote position with ongoing collaboration with revenue cycle teams, strong data usage, and experience mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• ICD-10 and MS-DRG knowledge required
• Familiar with Medicare/Medicaid and payer rules
• Experience with quality improvement and core measures
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to lead and mentor staff

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement clinical documentation education for physicians, clinicians and other stakeholders.
• Maintain provider education library.
• Aid in trending denials for education opportunities.
• Assist in developing and growing coding services.
• Directly perform, oversee, participate in, and recommend process improvements and operational changes to improve efficiency and client relationships.
• Prepare and provide daily/weekly reports to appropriate internal and external stakeholders, up to the executive level.
• Comfort and expertise presenting to and working closely with providers.
• Mentor and train staff as applicable.
• Aid in or create, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures for the department or clients.
• Other duties as assigned and assessed by client needs.
