Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a skilled Clinical Documentation Integrity professional to analyze medical records for HCC accuracy and educate providers on proper documentation. The role supports remote operations with periodic travel to Rocky Mountain and Mid-America regions from Florida.

You will serve as a subject matter expert in clinical documentation, collaborate with clinical and operational teams, and drive program development and performance improvements in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of coding experience, or experience with clinical documentation reviews and provider education
• RHIT, CCS, CRC, CDIP, CCDS-O, CCDS, or CPC certification required
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and CMS guidelines
• Experience educating physicians and providers on documentation improvements
• Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to regions

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical record documentation for HCC accuracy and educational opportunities
• Educates physicians and healthcare providers on need for complete and accurate documentation
• Acts as SME in clinical documentation and coding best practices
• Participates in program development, execution and performance
• Makes recommendations to improve processes to meet coding goals
• Evaluates records to support diagnosis code MEAT criteria
• Collaborates with operational teams in a matrix organization
• Guides Risk Adjustment Coding Specialists and cross-functional staff
• Maintains current knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CMS models and regulations
• Manages tasks to ensure privacy and data protection compliance
• Analyzes data, metrics and trends and reports findings
• Performs other duties as assigned
